Uchisar Castle Cappadocia

Updated October 2026 · Acetes Travel, Istanbul

Uchisar Castle Cappadocia's summit is the most beautiful point of view. For more than a thousand years or even until the 1950s people lived in rooms carved into the castle. It is of great strategic importance because it is located at a very dominant point in the region. It is said that the castle is connected to different parts of the region by tunnels, but no tunes have been found about these tunnels. In addition to the many valleys in the region, Hasan and Erciyes mountains have a great importance in the formation of the Fairy Chimneys.

Uchisar Castle, rising from the ground to the sky with all its glory, has been carved by the local people since Roman times. Many rooms, houses, shelter, warehouse, cistern, grave, cellar, built. An interesting underground city with seven floors from the summit to the valley.

Uchisar Castle consists of two giant fairy chimneys. The local people named the large one "Aganın Kalesi", the smaller one "Çavuşun Kalesi". The fortress has a height of over 50 meters from the south and a height of over 100 meters by the valley to the north.

When you go to the top of the fortress, in front of you three hundred sixty degrees of exquisite Cappadocia view. For to take photos and watch sunset its the perfect place.

Do not miss this perfect view.
