Planning an anniversary yacht cruise around your story

The best anniversary evenings feel personal rather than simply luxurious. A few choices made in advance turn a beautiful cruise into one that is clearly about the two of you and the years you have shared.

Bring your shared history on board

• Give the violinist or your playlist the song from your first dance, or the one that was playing when you met. Send the title well before the day so it can be prepared.
• Bring a few framed photos from your wedding or early years to place on the table among the flowers.
• If you married in white and gold, or had a favourite flower in your bouquet, tell us so the decoration can echo it.
• Some couples renew their vows in their own words on deck at sunset. It needs no ceremony, only a quiet moment and a few lines written down in advance.

A first anniversary or a golden one

A first or tenth anniversary is often an evening for two, so the focus is on the table, the timing of the cake and the light for photos. A 25th, 40th or 50th usually means children, grandchildren and old friends, and the planning changes:

• Tell us about any older guests who need help with steps or prefer to sit inside, so seats are kept for them in the saloon.
• Agree the order of speeches in advance and keep each one short. Children and grandchildren often like to speak together.
• Collect written messages from relatives who cannot attend and read a few aloud with the cake.

When the children are organising it

Many anniversary cruises are planned by sons and daughters as a surprise for their parents. In that case, ask the guests to arrive at the pier before the couple, choose one family member to stay in contact with us on the day, and give your parents a simple reason to dress up. Keep the cake and the gifts hidden until the yacht is under way, and leave a quiet moment for the couple alone on deck before the party begins.

Food and drinks for your anniversary

Every cruise starts with a welcome drink and light snacks. For dinner, choose one of our menus below, a buffet for the family or finger food, prepared on board by our chef for groups of 10 or more. Champagne and wine can be added to any menu. You can also bring your own food and drinks, with a service fee of €10 per person.

• The yacht: size and capacity
• Duration: we recommend 4 hours, from sunset into the evening
• Date and time: weekends, summer evenings and holidays are busiest
• Group size: number of adults and children
• Food, drinks and extras: what you add to the cruise
